This policy describes how Blue Goose Resale, LLC, operating the BuyOfferBid service, collects, uses, and protects information. BuyOfferBid uses customer information to operate local shopping events, verify accounts, process purchases, coordinate pickup, and send customer-requested updates.
Information We Collect
- Account details such as name, phone number, email address, and verification status.
- Purchase, bid, watchlist, payment, pickup, and customer-support records.
- SMS consent records, including whether you opted in to auction or event-start messages and where that opt-in occurred.
- Website activity and technical information such as pages and items viewed, purchases and other website actions, cookie identifiers, session records, IP address, device/browser details, and fraud-prevention signals.
How We Use Information
- To send one-time login and account-security verification text messages.
- To send optional auction and new-event text messages only when you choose to opt in.
- To run auctions, Buy Now purchases, pickup scheduling, receipts, payment support, and customer service.
- To measure website use and the effectiveness of BuyOfferBid advertising.
- To protect the service, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our terms.
Website Analytics and Advertising
BuyOfferBid uses the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API to measure website activity and advertising results. Depending on how you reach and use the site, Meta may receive page URLs, item and event identifiers, item prices, order totals, website actions, Meta cookie or ad-click identifiers, IP address, and browser or device information.
BuyOfferBid does not provide Meta with customer phone numbers, email addresses, names, postal addresses, text-message content, or SMS opt-in and consent records. Automatic and manual advanced matching are not used. Meta’s processing of information it receives is governed by its own terms and privacy choices.
SMS Privacy
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for promotional or marketing purposes. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with third parties.
We may use service providers to process mobile information solely as necessary for BuyOfferBid messaging operations, such as SMS delivery, account verification, telecommunications, security, and support. These providers are not allowed to use mobile information or SMS consent for their own marketing, promotional, lead generation, or analytics purposes.
Text Message Choices
Account verification texts are used to confirm access to your phone number. Auction and new-event marketing texts are optional and require a separate opt-in. You can opt out of optional BuyOfferBid text messages at any time by replying STOP to the BuyOfferBid messaging number. Reply HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply.
Payments
Payment card details are handled by our payment processor. BuyOfferBid stores payment references and transaction records, but does not store full card numbers.
Retention and Security
We keep information for as long as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, comply with tax, accounting, messaging, and legal requirements, and maintain security records. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate for a local commerce platform.
Your Choices
You may update account profile details in your account. You may opt out of optional text messages by replying STOP. You may also ask us to review, correct, or delete information when deletion is not prevented by transaction, legal, security, or compliance requirements.
You can limit browser cookies through your browser settings and review Meta’s controls for activity received from other businesses. You can also review industry advertising choices at YourAdChoices. Restricting cookies may reduce Meta’s ability to connect website activity with an advertisement.
